The First Principles of the Doctrine of Christ

Six studies that examine what the Epistle to the Hebrews refers to as the essential teaching necessary for a firm foundation in Christ. Understanding and surrendering to their truth will transform a weak Christian into a vibrant disciple. It is a fact that most of the problems believers face in their own personal lives, come from an incomplete or faulty spiritual foundation. These lessons were put together to address this issue, and became the foundation that produced hundreds of spiritual leaders over thirty years of ministry.

Understanding the Sermon on the Mount

This classic portion of biblical literature is laden with the clear principles of living under God’s Kingdom rule in this present world. It was Jesus’ primary training for His disciples and should be the foundation for every Christian training program.

How to Renew Spiritual Understanding

This seminar explores the damage that sin has caused the heart and mind, regarding purposes, attitudes, spiritual thought and understanding. Then it explores and reveals the biblical processes that will bring recovery and sensitivity to the Spirit of God. It reveals the power of repentance in daily life, and the joy of thinking God’s own thoughts. Then the study takes the disciple through the three stages of putting on the new man, who is created by God after His image.

Victory over the Flesh

The greatest problem facing believers, and those in leadership ministry today, is the lack of complete deliverance from the flesh. Leadership failures seen all over the world are not occurring because Satan has increased his power, but that he is given platform to operate through sinful and hidden flesh.

The seminar contains biblical instructions in how to identify the flesh, and then how to conquer it.

Victory over Satan

There is an amazing lack of understanding in the present church world regarding just how Satan operates in the world, how people become afflicted or oppressed, and how to find freedom. The Bible is the best teacher regarding Satan and his threats. The seminar consists of clear biblical principles that will identify Satan and reveal his footholds. Through clear training in the power of complete surrender to God and the folly of compromise, the studies will establish understandable and practical principles for continued spiritual freedom.

Sowing and Reaping

Many Spirit filled Christians today are convinced that most things happen through sovereign miracles of God’s doing. But the truth is that God operates through natural and spiritual processes as well as the miraculous and instantaneous. Natural processes are also His ways. This seminar is foundational to succeed long term in every spiritual endeavor. It begins in Genesis and proceeds through the New Testament revealing God’s ways and purposes through understanding the power of seed thoughts and actions, and the way they grow, mature, and bear fruit.

Whether it is the establishment of a worship ministry, a prayer ministry, a discipleship ministry, financial increase, personal holiness, or to improve marriage and family relationships, the answer is in how to sow towards godly harvests.

Sowing Finances into the Church

Every church pastor or leader faces a vision that does not yet have the means to raise the finances to become reality. God has called us into this impossible situation so that we will seek His ways for its provision.

God has given understandable biblical principles of order and clear commands for financial obedience that will open powerful spiritual doors for finances to abound. Church leaders who train their congregations in these principles find that their church members and disciples prosper in a way that enables them in turn to bring their wealth to accomplish spiritual vision.

The seminar trains leaders to clarify vision, to organize sacrifice, and to reap that sacrifice for the accomplishment of the vision revealed.

Marriage According to the Bible

Satan is attacking marriages with heavy bombardments of spiritual and natural attack. The result is that the divorce rate is almost the same among Christians as it is in the unsaved community. The marriages of leaders are specially targeted. For if he can destroy a leaders marriage he can almost surely destroy his ministry.

The Bible gives the best answers to this problem. Beginning in Genesis and following through the New Testament, practical biblical foundations are established. These foundations provide new insight, appreciation, and practical ways to correct areas of need.

Marriage is God’s idea. He knows best how it should function.

How to Walk in Spirit

Living and walking in the power of the Holy Spirit is the ideal and desire of every believer. It is the answer to the flesh and sin dilemma. The seminar begins with how “to pray into” the power of the Spirit, and then how to live by the principles given in the Bible that maintain the believer “walking in the Spirit” his entire life.

Understanding Trials

While it is important to know and believe in great and precious promises, it is also important to understand that God is purifying His people. He loves to bless with every good thing, yet He insists that all believers develop godly character.

Every believer will go through levels of trial and testing whether they are prepared for it or not. It is so much easier to walk through these times when they understand how it all fits into the over all purpose and plan of God.

The Servant Authority

Jesus told His disciples that they would not exercise authority as the gentiles did. He taught, modeled, and imparted the true servant authority to them. The foundation laid in their lives has been passed down to us through the testimony and instructions found throughout the New and Old Testaments. Understanding and yielding to servant authority principles will transform the home, the church and the workplace.

The Anointing of the Holy Spirit

This training is directed specially towards those who teach and preach the Word and minister to Gods people. By studying the biblical record of the successes and failures of Old Testament figures, and the New Testament revelations concerning spiritual empowerment and anointing, the disciple learns the disciplines of the anointed, and how to increase ministry anointing in every level of Christian service.

Worship

By studying the roots of worship ministry in the Old Testament, and enlarging upon those powerful principles in the New Testament, a new attitude is formed in the worshipper and the worship leaders. Rather than just setting a worship mood in the meetings, leadership become leaders who actually “go before” into the levels of worship that God will honor greatly. The seminar deals specifically with the worship that does not bring life, and how to avoid it.

Each of these series is offered with detailed notes so that each leader who participates can become a teacher. The notes can be used as they are, or they can be modified to fit each person’s own ministry and revelation.

The seminar concept is a valuable way to impart principles rather than just inform and challenge. Immersing disciples in the Word releases the power of the Spirit, who brings conviction and produces life long change, rather than the frustration of being humanly challenged, trying in our own strength, and subsequently failing.

The seminar concept is not popular because it takes time and energy. However, when Jesus wanted to train leaders they spent time together even though the times were urgent. Local church seminars enable pastors to choose the leaders they want to train; to experience and guide the changes together, to witness the struggles each trainee goes through, to evaluate each trainee’s level of revelation or reaction, and benefit from apostolic and prophetic influence in the training processes.
